Between 2010 and 2013, I was a journalism student at URI reviewing albums I bought, watching MTV back when MTV still pretended to play music, and writing about whatever was on TV at 2 a.m. This site collects 83 of those posts.

A few things to set expectations.

The reviews are reviews. Some hold up (the Lostprophets take, the Lupe Fiasco take). Some do not (I gave Ashley Tisdale’s Headstrong more thought than the album required, and I will not be apologizing for it). The piece where I credited Lauren Conrad with changing my life still tracks, mostly because I had a take-home test due Tuesday and “Unwritten” hit at the exact wrong moment.

The voice is twenty-something. It is sarcastic, occasionally unfair to Disney Channel alumni, and full of parenthetical asides. I have not edited any of it. Editing it now would be cheating.

The career arc that started here ended around 2012, when journalism stopped paying rent. What came next is at clearconciseconsulting.com. Different subject matter, same writer.
